Two arrested for home invasion in Ajax

Two suspects, one armed with a handgun, were quickly apprehended by officers following a home invasion incident in Ajax on Saturday morning.

On Saturday February 12, 2011 at approximately 2 a.m. officers from West Division responded to a reported home invasion incident on Booth Crescent in Ajax, where three occupants of the home were accosted by two disguised suspects, one armed with a handgun. The victims managed to contact police and escape outdoors, leaving the occupants inside the residence.

DRPS officers arrived at scene and were assisted by members of York Regional Police Tactical Support Unit. The suspects were contacted and escorted from the residence without incident and arrested. Investigators executed a search warrant and seized a loaded Glock 40 caliber handgun with ammunition and retrieved cash and jewelry items stolen from the victims. Investigators do not believe this was a random act.

Jelese BUSH, age 23 of Lawrence Avenue in Toronto and Jermaine WHITE, age 22 of Kingston Road in Toronto are jointly charged with: Robbery with Firearm; Disguise with Intent; Possession Weapon for Committing an Offence and additional firearm-related offences.

BUSH was further charged with Breach of Recognizance and WHITE is further charged with Fail to Comply with Probation. Both accused were held for bail hearings.
