On February 15, 2011, members of District 8 Acadian Peninsula RCMP arrested a man for possession of synthetic drugs.

The arrest was made as a result of an investigation that led to the search and seizure of a motor vehicle on February 12, 2011. A large quantity of amphetamine and methamphetamine pills were seized.

35-year-old Dominic Duguay, of Tracadie-Sheila, appeared in Tracadie-Sheila Provincial Court on February 16 and was charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court next on March 16, 2011, to enter a plea. The investigation is ongoing.
