The RCMP Marihuana Grow Operations Team, assisted by Federal Drugs, Synthetic Drug Unit and Halifax District RCMP members, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant during the evening hours of February 19th at a property on Bluewater Road in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

At approximately 10:00 pm, officers searched an industrial park business unit and located a large indoor grow-operation inside the business. Officers seized 375 mature marijuana plants along with grow equipment and an electrical by-pass was detected indicating theft of power.

"This operation was highly sophisticated,” says S/Sgt. Roddie Macdonald, RCMP Nova Scotia Drug Coordinator, “the marijuana grow was located in an industrial complex along with legitimate businesses and this puts peoples’ lives at risk.”

A 39 year-old Prospect man was arrested and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

Officers remain on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

  1. Who cares. Its just weed, grows naturally all over the place anyways and has next to no harmful scomment_IDe effects. Should be charged with “tax evasion”, NOT growing weed.
