Police seek more victims of Dr. Amitabh Chauhan in Prairies and Panama

On Friday, February 18, 2011, police arrested two men in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– on Sunday, February 13, 2011, a 23-year-old woman met the men at a hotel bar in the Queen Street West/University Avenue area,

– the two men are doctors and met the woman under the pretence of providing her with career advice,

– the woman was taken by the two men to a second bar in the Wellington Street West/Spadina Avenue area,

– an unknown substance was put in the woman’s drink,

– the woman was taken back to the hotel and sexually assaulted by the two men.

Amitabh Chauhan, 32, of Ancaster, has been charged with:
1) Administering noxious thing,
2) Gang sexual assault.

Suganthan Kayilasanathan, 32, of Markham, has been charged with:
1) Administering noxious thing,
2) Gang sexual assault.

Dr. Amitabh Chauhan has travelled across Canada. Upon his arrest, he was in possession of a Saskatchewan driver’s licence with his name and photograph.

Police know both men have travelled abroad together, including Panama.

Police believe there may be more victims.
