On Monday, Feb. 21 at approximately 7:25 p.m., a Honda Civic and Jeep collided in the intersection of 178 Street and 76 Avenue, killing one person.

Stephanie Beckley, 26, of Kamloops, B.C., was operating her 2000 Jeep north bound on 178 Street when she allegedly drove through a yellow light and struck the passenger side of a Honda Civic turning left off of 178 Street at 76 Avenue in a "T-bone" style collision.

A 23-year-old female passenger in the Honda (from Edmonton) had to be cut out of the vehicle. She was taken to hospital with critical injuries and later died while undergoing emergency surgery. The driver of the Honda was also taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

At the scene of the collision, Beckley was arrested for impaired driving and taken to West Division where she provided two breath samples; each more than twice the legal limit. Beckley and four passengers in the jeep were not injured.

Independent witnesses indicated the Jeep was being driven erratically just prior to the collision.

Stephanie Beckley of Kamloops, B.C. has been charged with impaired driving causing death.

  1. I have witnessed the wreckless behavior and believed for a long time that it was a matter of time before something bad happened. I wish the RCMP would have taken me seriously when I told them that something like this was going to happen.

  2. Laura Chee was a wonderful person, she was smart, beautiful and happy. I was horrified when I found out that Stephanie Beckley was granted bail for only $2000. It’s just not right. She needs to go to prison for life at least 20 years before being granted for parole. It is just not right, Stephanie killed a innocent person because she was irresponsible and under the influence of Alcohol, She killed someone who had a future, someone our society needs and respects, not someone who is reckless, underprivileged and just plain stupcomment_ID.

  3. Stephanie says she made a mistake!!!it was no mistake! she has been doing this since i met her 5 years ago! Its just the first time anyone of authority has ever caught her. I have reported her in the past and nothing was done. She should be in jail!

  4. think you have cause enuf touble there amber ,,,,,you should just fill that …with what your best at 😉

run yur mouth a lil more ,,, think about the kcomment_IDs and the girl who was lost ,,,we dont need to hear more of your nonsense negative remarks about what you think ,,,, because as always what you think or say about steph has no importance to it ,,,,,,,hopefully one day your hubby stands up and tells you what your 2 bits stands for ….

  6. I totally agree with your statement and it’s tough when we see such amazing people with great potential die. “not someone who is reckless, underprivileged and just plain stupcomment_ID.” but what does being underprivileged have to do with deserving to live?

p.s. I’m very sorry for your loss.

  7.
she’s from kelowna not kamloops
She’s from Edmonton, shes been in Ambers life for years (dated her son, had a kcomment_ID with him… Blah blah blah…) this is unfortunate and Stephanie will get what’s coming to her, but amber you need to get your head out of your ass and worry about what your own family (son) are doing (also drinking and driving, beating people up, constantly In jail) before you run your mouth about other people, start trying to fix the people you have around you, your pathetic….
