Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit have charged a Markham man in connection with the sexual assault of three male children and one historical sexual assault that occurred between 1975 to1978.

On February 23, 2011, investigators with the Sexual Assault Unit began an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving three male children, ages nine to 12 and a further incident
involving a fourth male victim stemming back to 1975, who was 13 years-old at the time.

As a result of the investigation, a male suspect was arrested on Thursday, March 31, 2011, without incident.

The victims were known to the accused and were not physically injured as a result of these incidents. Investigators are concerned there may be further victims or persons with information relating to these offences are urging those to come forward.

CHARGED:

• James DONALDSON, 53, of Markham

CHARGES:

• Sexual Assault (x4)
• Sexual Interference (x4)
• Indecent Assault –Historical Allegation
• Gross Indecency- Historical Allegation
The accused has been held in custody and will appear sometime today before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket
