This morning the RCMP arrested one of their own officers. It is alleged that the officer used police databanks without due authorization to check the identity of licence plate owners.

Kevin Beauvais-Benoit, a 33-year-old resident of Saint-Rémi, was formally charged with unauthorized use of a Canadian Police Information Centre computer terminal and data. He also faces charges of criminal harassment, breach of trust and releasing information to an unauthorized third party.
