The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in the Petitcodiac River. Police were called just before 8 a.m. on November 27, 2016 when a person walking on the trail behind the Chateau Moncton hotel noticed a body floating in the water. The body was retrieved on the Riverview side of the river a short time later.
The woman has not been identified but is believed to be in her late fifties or sixties. An autopsy will be conducted. The investigation to determine her identity and cause of death is ongoing.
