An impaired 46-year-old Clarington man was eventually apprehended by police following his dangerous driving spree which included a fail to remain accident in Clarington yesterday

On Thursday September 16, 2010 at approximately 11:48 a.m. the 46-year-old male was seen driving east on Taunton Road in a manner which included driving into oncoming traffic lanes and striking and knocking down safety cones in a construction site. The suspect motorist hit a large pick-up truck, causing damages to his own vehicle however the driver did not stop following the collision. The driver of the pick-up was not injured. DRPS entered into a police pursuit with the suspect who failed to stop over a distance of several kilometers. The driver was eventually apprehended by officers and arrested without incident.

Todd BLAYONE, age 46 of King Avenue East in Clarington is charged with: Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Fail to Stop for Police; Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
