The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate suspicious deaths in Lake Echo, Nova Scotia.
Last night at approximately 8:16 p.m., RCMP received a 911 call of shots fired at a residence on Ponderosa Drive, Lake Echo. When police arrived, they found a 47-year-old female who was shot and died as a result of her injuries.
The RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) entered the residence at 12:30 a.m., this morning. Once inside, they found a 50-year-old male who was pronounced dead. Both victims resided at the home.
The RCMP Forensic Identification Team has been brought in to assist with the investigation. The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit is still investigating but want to ensure the public that this was not a random act.
Police would like to advise residents in the area that the street has been opened to traffic.
