Detectives continue to appeal for information and witnesses following the death of an eight-year-old girl who fell from flats in E3.

Officers were called at approximately 14:40hrs on Saturday 11 September to Sandall House, Daling Way E3, by a member of the public who reported seeing a child injured on the pavement.

The eight-year-old girl was treated at the scene and was taken to RoyalLondonHospital by the air ambulance but was pronounced dead at approximately 15:30hrs.

A Post-Mortem examination took place on Thursday, 16 September at RoyalLondonHospital, and gave the cause of death as multiple injuries consistent with a fall from height.

An inquest will open at Poplar Coroner’s Court in due course.

SCD5 Major Investigations Team are investigating the incident.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.

Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Michael Orchard, of SCD5, said:

"I appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that can assist this investigation, no matter how small or insignificant you feel it may be, to contact us.

"We know that immediately after the incident a group of people gathered at the scene. Also the tower block is overlooked by numerous other properties nearby. I appeal to those people who have not yet spoken to police to get in contact, as you may have information that can assist our enquiries."
