Police has confirmed to be looking into a shocking case of a three-week-old baby boy being attacked to death by a ‘tiny’ terrier dog in Sunderland. According to the neighbors, the couple in their 30s, Maria Blacklin and Ryan, lived in Sunderland with Redgie and his four siblings but the dog used to escape from their home often. Police was called in at the premises to report the situation at around 4.15am this morning, after which Redgie was quickly shifted to a local hospital but sadly failed survive.

A neighbor confirmed that the family pet was a small terrier and it was impossible to know if it was dangerous or not. Officers from Northumbria Police confirm that the dog has been removed from the address on Falkland Road and is likely to be destroyed. Whereas, a 30-year-old man is currently in police custody helping the officers with inquiries into the incident.

Extremely shocked neighborhood confirms that the baby was known to have had four brothers and sisters and lived in a smart semi-detached house with his parents. A qualified criminal psychologist living next to the family, 50-year-old Paul Tweddle, alleged that “they are a lovely family, they are a caring couple in their thirties. This is a complete tragedy.” He added that “they had only brought Redgie home a few weeks ago. They just got on with their lives and were a normal family.”
