Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in Leyton.

The victim was with a male friend, also 14, on Sunday 9 January 2010 at about 20:45hrs when they were approached by a group of black youths in Underwood Court, Leyton Grange estate E10, junction with Church Road.

The suspects attacked the victim before making off.

The victim carried on walking before realising he had been stabbed and collapsing.

Police and the ambulance service were called and the victim was taken to an east London Hospital where he remains in a stable non-life threatening condition.

There are no further descriptions of the suspects at this stage and it is unclear how many were involved. Police retain an open mind as to the motive for the attack.

There have been no arrests.
