Soon after the Crown Prosecution Service announced their decision to withdraw charges against a Goldsmiths diversity officer, who allegedly tweeted #killallwhitemen, it added that the decision is now under review. Bahar caused a lot of controversy earlier this year by asking all white people and men to not attend a diversity event.

According to the second announcement on Tuesday, Police revealed that just a few hours after Bahar Mustafa’s charges were discontinued, a request for a review of the decision from a complainant initiated an immediate review. According to CPS spokesperson, “following the decision to discontinue this case, one of the complainants has now requested a review of this decision under the Victim’s Right to Review Scheme.” The spokesperson refrained from commenting further on the case since it was again under process. 28-year-old Ms Mustafa, from Edmonton, was handed a court summon last month over allegedly offensive comments. The claims were made in light of Ms Mustafa’s remarks in a Facebook pose.

The Facebook post published by the welfare and diversity officer at Goldsmiths University students’ union promoted an event to diversify the curriculum. She allegedly wrote that “invite loads of BME Women and non-binary people!! Also, if you’ve been invited and you’re a man and/or white PLEASE DON’T COME just cos I invited a bunch of people and hope you will be responsible enough to respect this is a BME Women and non-binary event only.”
