More than 50 highly-trained troops, which are part of the SAS group, have been deployed in and around London as intelligence chiefs told Prime Minister David Cameron there was no warning ahead of Paris attacks. Sources confirm that the Special Forces regiment is stationed at a top-secret location on the outskirts of the capital, ready to wage war against any jihadi attacks at a moment’s notice.

The former head of counter intelligence at the Cabinet Office, Colonel Richard Kemp, shared that the “uppermost in the minds of intelligence chiefs today is the prospect of both co-ordinated attacks and inspired attacks.” Ministry of Defence and the Metropolitan Police held a Cobra meeting recently to discuss having Special Forces either on standby or for extra surveillance purposes. Kemp stated that “It comes as no surprise there have been calls for increased security along those lines.”

Hence, a SAS liaison team has joined forces with the Metropolitan Police’s Anti-Terrorist force following the horrific scenes in Paris. Whereas, other major British cities apart from London have also been placed on high alert. Just like the weapons used in Paris massacre, Prime Minister David Cameron has been warned that weapons could be smuggled into the UK from either North Africa or through arms dealers in the Balkans. Meanwhile, a senior British intelligence source confessed that “weapons can be easily stripped down and hidden inside suitcases, lorries or containers,” adding that “you could bring in a small arsenal over a period of months.”
