Bombay High Court’s notice to Big B, Sony TV for abusing ‘Netaji’

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court issued a notice against Amitabh Bachchan & the Sony Entertainment Television. During the mega quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, the host Amitabh Bachchan slandered the statement “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi dunga” propounded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
 

The notice was issued by Chief Justice Mohit Shah & Justice G.S. Godbole & told the host of the show & the Sony TV channel to give a justified answer to the court on July 28. Court also asked an answer from the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as well as Advertisement Standard Council of India.

But the Central Board of Film Certification said that, the advertisement was not impertinent, it was totally funny. A Public Interest Litigation was filed by Mukesh Sharma, & he commented that, this kind of quotation quoted by Amitabh Bachchan in order to raise the TRP of the show. He believed it is as very much disparaging & hurting against the freedom fighter of the country who introduced Indian Army to fight against the British. The PIL also talks that, the superstar of the Indian film industry, Big B didn’t tried to save himself from committing such non-sense comments against ‘Netaji’.
