Delhi chief minister and the leader of Aam Admi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, mentioned on Thursday that he was completely surprised to learn about the resignation of lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung. However, his party did not refrain from taking a jibe at the LG as it repeatedly highlighted that Jung worked under the “influence” of the Narendra Modi dispensation.  According to Kejriwal, Jung’s resignation was a surprise to him but he wished him for his future endeavors.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, mentioned that despite the “sweet bitter” experience between the two, the AAP government and Jung did a good job in Delhi. Whereas on the other hand, Delhi minister Kapil Mishra expressed “good wishes to Najeeb Jung for his future endeavour. God should give some good sense to them who controlled him. Will the war continue even after Jung’s (exit)?”

However, senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas went a little further and called Jung’s tenure “disgraceful”. He pointed out that the LG troubled Delhi government at the behest of Modi dispensation, but took a jibe saying Jung would get a better posting. He teased that “Modi government promotes its people. We hope, he gets a better posting after this. I am unhappy that his tenure was disgraceful. Now that he has gone, good luck to him.” According to Vishwas, “Najeeb Jung’s behaviour was not his. He was under the influence of someone. We hope the next LG gives priority to issues concerning people and does not work under anyone’s influence.”
