The election results of India seem to be favoring families this time around. The father-son duo of Mulayam Singh Yadev and Akilesh Yadev win with a significant majority in UP while another father-son duo takes lead in Punjab – Badals.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has taken a clear cut lead in the state of Uttar Pradesh winning 22 seats up till 2:00 pm and leading in other states with more than 170 seats secured. The total number of seats won by SP climbs up to 192 with counting for seats still going on. Taking the initiative, alongside celebrations, the forefront of SP in UP, Akilesh Yadev thanked the people of UP for casting a confidence vote in their favor so that they can improve the law and order conditions in the state and further work for the development of their beloved state. He also said that the credit for this remarkable win is due to the workers and the leaders of the party, both.

The leader of SP, Mulayam Singh Yadev spoke to the media and congratulated his party alongside thanking the people of Uttar Pradesh and especially his son for all the hard work and belief put forth in the party.

At the same time, another father-son duo of Shiromani Akali Dal is winning with a majority in Punjab breaking the tradition of voting out the ruling party in Punjab.
