This Saturday saw an unfortunate incident in the Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district where a teenager was killed by the security forces during a protest against the Israel attack on Gaza. The protest started on Friday but after the injury to a youth, Amir Ahmad Parray, due to CRPF firing, the protest took a violent turn on Saturday.

The minor who was killed due to the CRPF personnel from 18 Battalion firing was identified as Suhail Ahmed Lone son of Ghulam Qadir Lone resident of Misho Hawora Kulgam. “At around 3, when stone-pelting and tear gas shelling was going on in the area, CRPF personnel suddenly fired few bullets that created panic in the area. Moments later people saw Suhail lying in a pool of blood near a shop where he was sitting when CRPF fired directly at him,” an eyewitness informed CNS further adding that it can be classified as target killing. According to a senior police official, the young teenager was quickly taken to the Anantnag town hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

DNA India informs that India has been witnessing a series of anti-Israel protests against its attacks on Gaza. The offensive launched by Israel on July 9 on the Gaza strip has already claimed the lives of 220 civilians in Palestine. According to a UN estimate, about 1,370 homes have been destroyed in Gaza and more than 18,000 people have been displaced in the conflict.
