The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, this Tuesday posted his second picture on Instagram account holding the caption “PM Abbott & I turned photographers!”. The picture posted by the Prime Minister is taken in Canberra and shows Modi and his Australian counterpart Tony Abbott laughing and playing with children. A picture like that deserved an over-whelming response and so it was instantly liked by about 8000 people.

In a picture posted by the Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin, the PM could be seen taking a picture of children with his digital camera. “Lucky children, they have Prime Ministers of India & Australia attending to them,” the official said using his Twitter account. The Prime Minister who started using Instagram last week, posted his first picture on the 12th of November from Myanmar where he went to attend the ASEAN-India summit. “Hello World! Great being on Instagram,” the Prime Minister said in his message. The Prime Minister has gained 1,17,246 follower on the site.

According to NDTV, since he took charge in May, PM Modi has regularly posted updates and pictures on Twitter of his foreign visits – he is currently on his third major tour – and of visiting dignitaries. The 64-year-old is among India’s most social media savvy politicians and has close to eight million followers on Twitter.  He has also encouraged his ministers and officials to become more tech savvy.  Instagram allows its users to share pictures and videos on social networking platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
