The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar got injured early this Wednesday morning when he slipped during his morning walk at his residence in New Delhi. Pawar was immediately taken to Mumbai by air ambulance. Pawar, 73, has suffered injury in his leg and apparently in his back and will be admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai is the current information received from sources of Livemint.

 His wife Pratibha and daughter Supriya Sule are accompanying him to Mumbai. His family informed that Pawar slipped during his usual morning walk at his Janpath bungalow but avoided elaborating further on his condition. Sharad Govindrao Pawar was born on 12th December 1940 and is an Indian politician who serves as the president of the Nationalist Congress Party.  Pawar, was a member of Congress but left it in 1999 and formed NCP. He is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha. He has been the chief minister of Maharashtra three times and is also a former Union minister.

Pawar also has the honor of being the Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India from 2005 to 2008 and as the president of the International Cricket Council from 2010 to 2012. Pawar also had his share of controversies attached to him which included links with criminals, stamp paper scam, controversial wheat imports and criticism of agricultural produce prices according to information provided on Wikipedia.
