This Wednesday the opposition stopped all proceedings in the Rajya Sabha over the demand that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi should be called to make a statement over the conversion issue that has caused havoc all over the country and is making headlines for the past few days.

The Hindu’s of India have started a religious conversion campaign all over the country by the name of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ according to which the Hindu’s will try to convert Muslims and Christians to Hinduism. The name is chosen to make India an all Hindu’s nation again. The Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, P.J.Kurien, had adjourned the house till 12:18 p.m. as the opposition continued to raise slogans against the Prime Minister and his government.

The Congress leader Anand Sharma said the leader representing the government in Rajya Sabha must inform the House whether the Prime Minister will come to the House to make a statement regarding to the highly controversial issue of religion conversion. “If the PM doesn’t come to the House, we won’t let the Rajya Sabha function,” declared Sharma. Ani News informed that the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu this Wednesday accused the Opposition of blocking the business in Rajya Sabha, saying the entire country is watching. “The entire country is watching. They are blocking the House, it is totally unacceptable,” Naidu said, adding the people are waiting for the passage of crucial bills. “We are not at fault, we are ready for all kinds of discussions,” the minister said further.
