Rejection in love could not be tolerated by a youth Ashish Verma (20) and shot dead a teenage girl near a college in Alambagh on Friday morning. He then tried to kill himself. His condition is said to be critical.

In a suicide note, Ashish Verma (20) wrote that no one should be held responsible for his action.

Sakshi was a class XI student of New Public Inter College. Around 8.45am on Friday, when she was going to her college. Ashish and another youth riding a motorcycle stopped her. According to the evidence the youth asked the girl to join him for a ride but the girl refused. The refusal was not accepted by him and tempted him to shot the girl at the moment. People around the place heard gunshots.

When the local police was informed, they had little doubt about the suspect’s identity. Sakshi’s family also named Ashish as the prime suspect.

Soon, after that police found that Ashish had shot himself at his cousin’s house around two hours after the incident. Doctors treating him said the injury was deep in his skull.

Sakshi’s cousin Sunil told that Ashish had been bothering her ever since he came to Lucknow around 18 months ago.

Local people alleged that police did not take action against Ashish even though Sakshi’s family had filed a written complaint against him about two months ago. The police had summoned him and let him off with just a warning.

Police are waiting for Ashish to recover as this will help them to investigate properly and collect more information about the case..
