The key determinant of the Memogate case, Masoor Ijaz arrived at the Pakistan High Commission in London a little while ago and the proceedings have started.

As per media information, Mansoor Ijaz continues to play with his cell phone while giving his statement. The head of the counsel of the Haqqani case, Mr. Zahid Bukhari who has flown to London to be physically present and monitor the statement recorded by Mansoor Ijaz remains quite at the matter as the authorities sitting in Pakistan raise issue over the use of cell phone at the time of testimony which can lead to questioning the authenticity of the statement at a later stage.

Further updates from High Court in Islamabad have said that Mansoor Ijaz put his phone on the table in request of the commission which is questioning from Islamabad. He asked the concerned if there was anything else they needed him to do to be comfortable with the testimony.

Mansoor Ijaz is giving his statement and the counsel of the commission sitting in Islamabad right now is cross-questioning him over his statement.

Mr. Mansoor Ijaz had been informing the courts in Pakistan that he will come to Pakistan and help the court proceed with the case as they see fit with his help. However, he backed out a few days back raising security issues and the commission had to arrange for video meeting to take down the statement of Mansoor Ijaz from London.
