Pakistan and Saudi Arabia this Monday planned to further strengthen the cooperation between them in various fields for the sake of promoting the unity amongst the Muslim Ummah and also for international peace and stability. A meeting between the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud who was invited by Nawaz  Sharif at the PM House.

The Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif were also present during the meeting. Both the leaders discussed matters relating to mutual interest and were beneficiary for both the countries. The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a brotherly relationship and share similar views on regional and international matters. He further added that Pakistan appreciates and supports efforts of Saudi Arabia aimed at strengthening unity among the Islamic countries. The Prime Minister explained that Pakistan held Saudi Arabia in the highest esteem and believes in strengthening relations further. He remembered the large Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and said that they served as a bridge between the two brotherly countries.

The Saudi Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al- Saud expressed immense gratitude to the Prime Minister Sharif for his hospitality shown towards him and also his delegation during the entire visit. Earlier, both the leaders attended the agreements signing ceremony between the delegates of both countries that included agreements on export credit facility of US$ 125 million, especially for the purchase of urea from Saudi Arabia Industries Cooperate. The second agreement signed contained US$ 58 million funding by Saudi Fund for Development of Golen Gol Hydropower Project taking place in Chitral.
