Ali Hassan Raza this Saturday returned from India and thanked Allah that he was able to return on his own two feet. Ali Hassan Raza, a 24 year old student, studying at the Pondicherry University was assaulted by three unidentified men in his room at the Sir CV Raman Hostel.

Reportedly a group of men crept up on him while he was sleeping and then beat him with iron rods and liquor bottles. Raza in a terrible condition somehow managed to press the alarm systems which lead to people rushing to help him. The group is reported to have fled by that time. The 24 year old was the first and only Pakistani student studying at the Pondicherry University. Raza’s father claimed that now he thanks God for sending his son safely back home and that in future, he will never send his son back to India.

The student had received permission from the Indian authorities yesterday to travel back to Pakistan. He thanked the government and said that it was due to the efforts of the Pakistan High Commission, that he was able to return to Pakistan in a private airliner. After coming out of the airport, he was received by his parents and a number of his relatives. Ali Hassan Raza ruled out the element of religious extremism in his torture. He said he cannot say more than terming the incident as a nightmare.
