The Interior Minister of Pakistan Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan assured in his meeting with the British High Commissioner this Friday that Pakistan will fulfill all its obligations in the ‘Imran Farooq murder case.’

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Phillip Barton, met Chaudhry Nisar Ali in Islamabad this Friday and both the leaders exchanged views on matters that were of mutual interests. Talking on the occasion, Nisar said that Pakistan views United Kingdom (UK)’s cooperation with Pakistan with respect. “Expressing his views on Imran Farooq murder case, the minister said that Pakistan will fulfill all international obligations as required under the law,” said a spokesman for the interior ministry said. Whereas Barton assured that the UK is ready to offer any possible assistance to Pakistan regarding its internal security policy.

It has not been clarified whether the British High Commissioner demanded access to the two suspects but he made clear that Government of United Kingdom has no role in the case being carried out. “The high commissioner emphasised that contrary to what is being propagated in certain sections of Pakistan, the government of Great Britain has absolutely no role in the case.The courts and Metropolitan police in the UK are independent in ongoing investigation and its scope,” was said in the official press statement issued by the ministry.
