The militants across the Afghanistan-Pakistan border this Saturday attacked the Pakistani troops in Bajaur tribal agency and killed three security personnel of the Pakistan army who were at the security check-post. The official sources have informed that the militants attacked from the Kunar province of Afghanistan in the early hours of the morning.

“At least 40 militants ambushed the Frontier Corps vehicle, which was on a routine patrol. The terrorists had come into Pakistan from Afghanistan, heavily armed, and attacked around 12:30 a.m.,” a military official in the area said. “They escaped when troops fought back.” The attack has also injured two other people but the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) have yet to officially confirm the attack or the casualties accroding to a local media house.”Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attack on a Bajaur Scouts vehicle at Ghakki Pass in Bajaur Agency, launched from across the border in Afghanistan. An officer and two soldiers embraced ‘shahaadat’ (martyrdom) in the attack, while two soldiers were critically injured,” said a statement from the foreign ministry. “It has been reiterated that Afghanistan should eliminate terrorist sanctuaries and not allow its territory to be used against Pakistan,” the statement added.

This is not the first time that there has been trouble at the Afghan-Pakistan border. Earlier last month, four Pakistani soldiers were killed in Bajaur in a very similar cross-border attack made from Afghanistan. The Pakistani Taliban connected to al Qaeda have taken responsibility of the attack that was made this Saturday.
