The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak has written a letter to the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanding a complete control of the electricity producing units of KP. He has written that the province is experiencing the worst kind of load shedding. He also demanded the payment of pending dues and distribution of assets to the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The CM Pervez Khattak stated 11 demands in his letter to the Prime Minister. He has appealed for 2000 MW of electricity for KP instead of the previously offered 1300 MW. He has also asked for the payment of dues amounting to one hundred thirty four billion. Khattak has also sought permission for usage of natural gas for production of 500 MW of electricity.

Furthermore the CM has requested the payment of net profit 6 billion rupees on generation of electricity. He also claimed the return of all those Frontier Corps (FCs) officials who have been appointed in other provinces and have not been able to return home for months. KPK province is majorly affected by the terrorist attacks and therefore it should be declared as a disaster-affected area, Pervez Khattak demanded in his letter. He informed the Prime Minister that more than 10 Lakhs IDPS have come into the province and therefore must also be provided with assistance. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also needs the building of irrigation systems for a growth in agricultural production. Imran Khan has repeatedly announced that the Federal government is ignoring the demands of KP and is not giving them the funding they require to assist the IDPs properly.
