A blast in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan killed three people and further injured twenty six this Saturday. The bomb explosion took place near a vehicle of the security forces that was passing by on Jinnah Road in Khuzdar Bazaar.

According to the eye witnesses present at the location, the blast occurred when a vehicle of the security forces passed by the area while a large number of people were busy in their Ramadan shopping. Due to the great number of people at the spot, three people lost their lives on the spot whereas 26 other which included four security personnel suffered from injuries. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital in Khuzdar for treatment. According to the police, the blast was remote controlled and was installed in a motorcycle that was parked on the roadside of the bazaar. The Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and the police cordoned off the site and launched an operation in the effected area to arrest the culprits. Khuzdar is already in the list of high alert areas due to Yaum-i-Ali that falls tomorrow.

There was no claim of responsibility by the culprits but according to the police, the Baloch separatists can be behind the tragic incident. The separatists in Balochistan, the province of Pakistan which borders Iran and Afghanistan, have carried out a number of attacks since the formation of Pakistan in the hopes that they will succeed in establishing an independent state.
