The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan, was filled with anger as he addressed thousands of protesters who stood before him in Islamabad this Saturday night. The anger was justified as hundreds of PTI workers were arrested all over Punjab today. Apart from the workers, a lot of people belonging to media as well as innocent young boys, belonging to no specific party were also arrested.

The party and its supporters were supposed to celebrate ‘One Nation’ day but the leader said that he would not celebrate until those who are illegally arrested by the police of Punjab are freed. The former cricketer started his speech addressing the policemen who had carried out orders that were not legal. He said protesters were arrested from their houses which also included the famous DJ Butt who is famous for playing PTI songs and managing the light and sound department during the Azadi March. Khan also stated different stories which summarized the poor state of Pakistanis and how they suffered without rights. He ended his speech with examples of how Pakistan should be while the protesters assembled chanted ‘Go Nawaz Go’.

At the same time, protesters had also assembled at the sea view in Karachi who chanted the same slogan, asking the Prime Minister to resign. Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed the workers there and said that the arresting of protester cannot stop the waves that are shaking the capital today. Both PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek have closed the doors to for negotiations with the government until their workers and supporters are freed from jail.
