Something that could be the first sign of a historical movement in Pakistan’s history was seen today. A video was uploaded online which showed that the passengers on Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight from Karachi to Islamabad were delayed more than two hours for VIPs. This made the passengers furious who forced Dr Ramesh Kumar Wakwani, a Member of National Assembly, to leave the flight which was delayed because of him.

The angry passengers could be heard grumbling, “So-called VIPs” and “My foot VIPs” as they forced to VIPs to leave. Angry comments were accompanied by ‘Shame, Shame’.  The passengers could also be heard talking to the PIA crew who were trying to control the agitated passengers. “No, no, no, sir,” one of the passengers responded, “We’ve taken it for too long. For 68 years. Are we going to take it for another 68 years?” At the same time, Senator Rehman Malik, belonging to Pakistan People’s Party was seen walking towards the plane only to be welcomed by shouting passengers who warned him to leave the plane.

“Malik sahab, sorry. You should go back. You should apologise to these passengers. You should be ashamed of yourself… 250 passengers have suffered because of you. It is your fault, sir.” As Malik argues with the passengers, one traveller replies, “You are not a minister anymore!” Rehman Malik was Pakistan’s Interior Minister between 2008 and 2013. Dr Ramesh Kumar Wakwani was forced out while 250 passengers applauded.
