This Tuesday that is the 10th of Muharram according to the Islamic Calendar is marked with the sacrifice if Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), his family and companions who were brutally martyred in the battle of Karbala. Hazrat Imam Hussain was the grandson of our Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The Shia community all over the world is taking out mourning processions especially in Pakistan where there are processions in all provinces of the country.
In Karachi, Sindh the main procession was taken out from the Nishtar Park which is expected to take its traditional routes and then culminate at Imam Bargah Hussainia Irania in Kharadar area which is also expected to hold a ‘majlis’ tonight according to local TV channels. In Lahore, the main Zuljinnah procession emerged from Nisar Haweli which is expected to culminate at the Karbala Gamay Shah this evening after passing through its traditional routes whereas in Peshawar‚ the main procession was taken out from Imambargah Qissa Khawani Bazar and will culminate at the same point after passing through traditional routes according to Samaa News.
The heart of Balochistan, Quetta‚ also saw the main procession of Youm-e-Ashur which had been taken out from Imambargah Nechari Alamdar Road and is expected to terminate at the same point where Sham-e-Ghariban will be held according to Samaa. The Shia community marks the incident by wearing black clothes and mourning on the eve and day of Ashura when the companions of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his 72- member army including friends and family were beheaded in the battle.
