The most heartbreaking terrorist attack took place in the history of not only Pakistan but also in the history of this world when more than 120 children were killed by seven terrorists who had entered the Army Public School in Peshawar.

According to the local media and the statements by the ISPR, the terrorists entered from the back wall of the school and started shooting aimlessly at every one they saw. Their targets were the innocent children who were having their sports activity outside and later children who were having their exams in the auditorium. It took the Pakistan Military forces to reach the school in about 10 to 15 minutes and mean time the terrorists were opening every classroom to kill children. After the operation started, the army cornered the terrorists in the administrative block of the school and soon all seven were killed. It was revealed that the terrorists had brought food and a considerable amount of explosives with them which revealed that they had a long term plan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif and the former cricketer Imran Khan reached Peshawar the same day condemning the attack and vowing to fight back. Khan has postponed his protest against the government saying that the nation needs to stand united against this attack. ‘I pretended to die,’ said a little girl who was shot on the leg and survived as she pretended she was dead by falling down and closing her eyes. The school children who survived still stand strong and have asked the COAS not to spare even one terrorist in their operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists.
