The White House has highly condemned the attack. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and loved ones,” President Obama said, “By targeting students and teachers in this heinous attack, terrorists have once again shown their depravity.”

The White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said “Many of these extremists like to characterize their struggle as a struggle of Muslims against the Western world. But that clearly is not true if the largest number of victims that we’re seeing are actually Muslims. And that makes the situation all the more heartbreaking and all the more tragic.” The Prime Minister of Pakistan has called an all parties conference to take suggestions from all parties on how to deal with terrorism. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who has called off its protest against the government is also attending the conference.
