This Saturday the people of Karachi witnessed an unfortunate accident in the city which lead to the death of dozens. The accident took place last night as a bus loaded with passengers and an oil tanker collided and both the vehicles caught fire.

“We have received more than 57 dead bodies but the death toll may rise as most of them are completely burnt and stuck to each other,” said Doctor Semi Jamali at Karachi’s Jinnah hospital according to the local newspapers. Jamali further explained that at least six children were stuck to women who might be their mothers, further adding that it was impossible to separate the remains of the bodies. The bodies were also completely burnt making it difficult for the relatives to identify their close ones. “They are beyond recognition, they can only be identified by DNA test,” the doctor added. Two more victims succumbed to their wounds this Sunday.

Another reason which leads to the unfortunate accident was the fact that the bus was overloaded and was carrying about sixty passengers. The bus was carrying these passengers from Karachi to the town of Shikarpur. Gul Hassan, a resident of the city said he had lost nine relatives in the crash which included an eighty year old head of the family and also a two year old child.
