six terrorists, isis commander arrested in balochistanLaw enforcement agencies of Pakistan carried out a special intelligence-based operation on Saturday to detain seven terrorists, including a prominent Al-Qaeda and Daesh commander, in Nushki, Balochistan. Sources privy to the operation claim that it was conducted on the basis of intelligence acquired from interrogation of Al-Qaeda terrorists already under-custody.

The operation also included seizure of large amount of arms, ammunition, militant-literature and cash from the detained terrorists. The material taken in custody from the operation included improvised explosive devices (IED), explosive material, 7 AK-47 assault rifles, 1 rifle, 12 gauge rifle, 168 primer cords, 40 hand grenades, 150 rounds of ammunition, 3 swords, 3 telescopes, 2 binoculars, 1 laptop, 15 mobile phones, militant literature and a Daesh flag.

The initial interrogation of the detained terrorist revealed that he had first joined Al-Qaeda in 2012-2013 to receive the initial training in Afghanistan and then he proceeded to Syria where he received more training before joining the militancy in Pakistan. It was added that he returned to Pakistan from Syria and was involved in recruiting, facilitation and indoctrination for the Al-Qaeda and Daesh. Moreover, the detained terrorist confessed that he was involved in recruiting more terrorists for training in Afghanistan because they had access to weapons training and militant training over there.  Furthermore, the law enforcement agencies have acclaimed that similar operation against Daesh and Al-Qaeda militants present in the country will be carried out and steps are being taken to make further arrests.
