Addressing the media in front of the Parliament House, Rashid mentioned that “agriculture is backbone of our economy and the government has facilitated farmers through various incentives to cover up their income shortfall.” In his remarks, Rashid claimed that some Opposition parties are working day and night to politicize the issue but PML-N will not allow the Opposition to play with the sentiments of poor farmers.

Explaining the steps taking by his government, Rashid elucidated that in 2013 the price of Urea fertilizer bag was Rs 2050 per bag but now it has been reduced to Rs 1400 by the present government.
