In an effort to improve the overall standard of the game, Hyderabad Cricket Association has decided to rope in the services of former South African fielding great Jonty Rhodes and the former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar.

Arshad Ayub, president of HCA said “Yes, the proposal came from the Mumbai Indian side and after a unanimous decision we felt it would be appropriate to make use of the services of Rhodes,”

Arshad added “Well, Rhodes will also conduct some sort of courses for the coaches too for better results.

42 year old Rhodes will not just focus on the Hyderabad Ranji team but also take care of the under-19, 16 and under-22 teams which are training at the Hyderabad Cricket Academy of Excellence at Gymkhana Grounds next week for three days. Sunil Joshi has been appointed as the coach for the entire season

It was also reported that as soon as the Hyderabad team returns from taking part in the South Zone T-20 championship, a brain-storming session will be held where the coach will brief about aspects related to the player’s performances, attitude, the potential amongst the youngsters and the core team for the upcoming season.
