The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to welcome back import WR Todd Lowber, and introduce imports DB Isaiah Gardner and DT Claude Wroten.

This will be Lowber’s third tour of duty with the Argos after spending a short time on the team’s practice roster in 2008 and then returning to the club in 2009 for training camp. The tall and speedy 29-year old didn’t play football until he joined the Minnesota Vikings following a terrific career in basketball and track at Ramapo College. Since college, he’s had stints with the New York Giants, where he earned a SuperBowl ring as a member of the practice roster, the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.

Isaiah ‘Zeke’ Gardner played three seasons for the Maryland Terrapins after spending a redshirt season at Notre Dame. He started 26 games and made 131 tackles at cornerback during his final two college campaigns and then signed with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. He played four games for the Jaguars and later attended 2010 training camp with the Edmonton Eskimos.

Ranked among the best defensive linemen in the country coming out of high school, Claude Wroten played two outstanding seasons at Mississippi Delta C.C. before transferring to LSU. He excelled in his two years as a Tiger, earning both first and second team all-star accolades. The St. Louis Rams selected Wroten with the 68th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft and he played 26 games over two seasons with the Rams. The 27-year old Louisiana native also spent two seasons with the UFL’s Florida Tuskers.

The Toronto Argonauts also announced today that non-import FB Peter Quinney has been released.
