Rider Nation enters Double Blue territory this Thursday, August 18 as the Toronto Argonauts host the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Rogers Centre, presented by Pizza Pizza. Both teams enter the game 1-6, battling for their second win this season. Fans can expect high intensity from both teams by the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

For the first time ever, the Argos will host Yoga Day prior to the game. Five prominent GTA yoga instructors will lead participants through a one-hour yoga class right on the football field before the game, starting at 2:30 p.m. The class is followed by a charity barbeque and then the big game. Just bring your yoga mat and water bottle and head to Gate 6A at 1:30 p.m. for registration.

The pre-game festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. outside of Gate 11 at Rogers Centre with inflatables, music, the Toronto Sun photowall, a Marc Angelo Foods barbeque and samples of poutine. Additionally, Jones Soda will be sampling product outside Gate 5.

CMT Music Festival artists, The Heartbroken, who recently received a nomination for the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA), will perform at halftime. The Heartbroken will also perform at the CMT Music Festival on Friday, August 26 along with Corb Lund, Blake Shelton, and headliner Lady Antebellum. A special discount will be available for Argos’ season ticket holders and all patrons at the game, offering 25% off CMT Music Festival tickets.

As part of the Argos’ Kickoff for Culture Series, Ms. Paige will be performing the national anthem. Kickoff for Culture sees the Toronto Argonauts educate various ethnic and cultural groups about Canadian football. Thursday’s game focuses on members of the Caribbean population. The OPP Minor Football League will form the home fan tunnel and the Simcoe County Contact Football Camp will form the visiting fan tunnel as the Double Blue pays tribute to legendary Argo great Royal Copeland.

After the game, fans are invited to head over to the Official Post-Game Party at Jack Astor’s, 144 Front Street West, to say hi to some of your favourite Argos players and the 2011 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun.
