Buffalo SabresBuffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forward Paul Szczechura has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. 

Szczechura (5’10”, 186 lbs., 11/30/85) joins the Sabres on his second recall of the season after making his Sabres debut on Saturday, Nov. 26 vs. Washington. Szczechura recorded two assists in Buffalo’s 5-1 win over the Capitals. 

The Brantford, Ont. native, who signed a one-year NHL contract with the Sabres on Aug. 9, has played in nine games with Rochester this season, collecting 7 points (1+6). 

Prior to joining the Amerks, Szczechura spent last season with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL). In 79 games with the Admirals, he collected 52 points (22+30). Szczechura appeared in 83 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning during parts of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, recording 16 points (9+7). 

In 223 career AHL games, Szczechura has totaled 155 points (63+92) between Rochester, Norfolk and the Iowa Stars.
