The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that defenceman Jake Gardiner has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gardiner, 21, was assigned to the Marlies yesterday and played against the Hamilton Bulldogs, collecting an assist and two penalty minutes in a 2-1 loss. He has registered 10 assists while averaging 20:32 of ice-time in 37 games with the Maple Leafs in 2011-12.
