Toronto Maple LeafsBrian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Saturday that the hockey club has signed forward Sam Carrick to a three-year entry level contract. 

Carrick, 20, played in all 68 games this season for the Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Brampton Battalion and led the team in goals (37), assists (30), points (67), power-play goals (11) and penalty minutes (104). The Battalion captain has also scored three goals and three assists in four playoff games for Brampton. In 254 career OHL games with the Battalion, he has registered 84 goals, 85 assists and 169 points along with 321 penalty minutes. 

Carrick represented the OHL in the 2011 Canada-Russia Subway Super Series this past November. The 6-0, 207-pound native of Stouffville, Ontario was originally the Maple Leafs fifth choice, selected 144th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
