Kevin Marshall earns point in first game with Marlies
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 6-1 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.
Ryan Hamilton opened the scoring with a shorthanded marker at 9:35 of the first period. Brad Ross extended the lead with his 4th goal of the campaign in the closing minute of the period. Greg Scott notched the lone tally of the middle frame at 19:25. Ryan Hamilton would score two more goals in the third period to complete his first hat trick of the season. Kenny Ryan also tallied for Toronto in the final frame. Maxime Legault was the only Amerks player to beat goaltender Drew MacIntyre, who stopped 30 of 31 shots to earn his 6th victory of the season.
The Marlies return to the ice tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Cleveland to play the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m.
