Dave Nonis, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Ben Scrivens from their ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals.
Scrivens, 22, has appeared in seven games with the Royals, posting a record of 4-3-0 with a 2.46 goals against average and 0.931 save percentage. Scrivens ranks fourth in the ECHL in save percentage and ninth in goals against average. The Spruce Grove, Alberta native collected his first career ECHL victory on October 16, making 31 stops in the Royals’ 6-5 victory over the Trenton Devils.
The Marlies finish their season-high 10-game road trip on Friday night when they travel to Cleveland, OH to take on the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:30 p.m. Toronto returns to Ricoh Coliseum for back-to-back home games against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday and Sunday. The game on Sunday will air live on CBC with puck-drop scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
