The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that forward William Nylander has been reassigned from MODO of the Swedish Hockey League to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Nylander, 18, was selected by the Maple Leafs with the eight overall selection of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Nylander registered eight goals and 12 assists in 21 games with MODO this year. During the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, Nylander led Sweden and finished fifth overall with 10 points (3 goals, seven assists).

The Marlies, who are currently on a nine-game point streak, return to action on Thursday when they travel to Charlotte.
