Following a close victory at Galle, Sri Lanka would take on New Zealand in the 2nd Test match of the New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka 2012 hosted at P Sara Oval, Colombo at 10:00 Local Time (04:30 GMT).
It’s the final game of the tour for Sri Lanka and New Zealand, the Kiwis will be looking to get a win to level the series up and save some pride since they have had a poor experience to date. Ross Taylor hasn’t had a great tour of Sri Lanka and New Zealand require their captain to step up and start making some more runs. The probable Kiwi squad will include: 1. Martin Guptill, 2. Brendon McCullum, 3. Kane Williamson, 4. Ross Taylor, 5. Daniel Flynn, 6. James Franklin/Rob Nicol, 7. Kruger van Wyk, 8. Doug Bracewell, 9. Tim Southee/Todd Astle, 10. Jeetan Patel, 11. Trent Boult.
Sri Lanka dominated New Zealand in the 1st Test as they went on to win by 10 wickets. Rangana Herath was the man for Sri Lanka who secured the win because of Sri Lanka’s poor batting but it didn’t matter as he took 11 wickets in the 1st Test. Herath looked extremely dangerous with the red ball in hand as he powered through the New Zealand batsman earning the Man of the Match award in 1st test. Herath has previously wa successful against the Kiwis since he has now taken 22 wickets in 3 Tests against them. The likely Sri Lankan lineup will include: 1. Tillakaratne Dilshan/Dimuth Karunaratne, 2. Tharanga Paranavitana, 3. Kumar Sangakkara, 4. Mahela Jayawardene (c), 5. Thilan Samaraweera, 6. Angelo Mathews, 7. Prasanna Jayawardene (wk), 8. Nuwan Kulasekara, 9. Suraj Randiv, 10. Rangana Herath, 11. Shaminda Eranga.
