In the field hockey, on Saturday December 1st 2012, Pakistan is taking on Netherland in a Champion Trophy Hockey tournament at State Netball Hockey Centre, Melbourne, Australia. The whole tournament scheduled to be held from December 1 to 9 in Melbourne. This match is in the start of the tournament.
After wrap up a third place finish at the recently completed, four-nation hockey International Super Series, Pakistan is looking to bring back itself on the international level at the Champions Trophy, starting in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday.
On the other hand, the Netherlands will also be looking forward with their excellent form from the Olympics where they took silver, however now they get themselves devoid of their newly retired ever green goal scoring tycoon Teun De Nooijer.
Pakistan has been positioned in Group B along with Belgium, Netherland and Australia while Group A had the England, New Zealand, India and this year London Olympic gold medalists Germany.
Pakistan has a new and experienced defender Muhammad Imran as the team new captain who substitutes former captain and world’s high point goal scorer Sohail Abbas who escorted the team in London 2012. Forward Muhammad Waqas will be captains second-in-command at the Champions Trophy.
