The 2nd last day ended with Sri Lanka trailing by 328 runs from Australia with their second-innings score of 65-2.

Australian skipper, Michael Clarke led his men to 2nd innings score of 278-9 and to set a difficult target of 393 runs for the visitors entering into the final day of the opening test match.

While, Sri Lanka has never grabbed any victory in Australia and has never get succeeded in chasing more than 352.

Sri Lanka now need to play out of their skins if they want to egister their initial victory from 11 attempts on Australian soil. The West Indies is the only team to chase the highest successful run chase against Australia with 417-8 at St. John’s in 2003.
